Stephen is a consultant at with The Centre (Brussels) and Vision (Rome), managing projects for the European Commission and establishing projects of research and collaboration with thinking communities across Europe. He is an expert in creative communications and in establishing dialogue and policy networks. He has extensive experience in managing and evaluating cultural
and political projects. He contributed to publications including How do we Pay? Funding Public Services in Europe and European Democracy: A Manifesto. Prior to this he worked with the British Council in Brussels where he managed many high level projects on issues of European governance and democracy, media and intercultural dialogue. He directed films and TV initiatives, organising film festivals in Brussels such as Image A nation festival of UK cinema and a series of issue-based documentaries. Before this he worked with the European Commmission in DG RELEX at the Mexico and Central America Desk. Previously he worked extensively with an NGO in Mexico and Guatemala and also with the United Nations in London. He graduated from Edinburgh University and L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Grenoble. He loves surfing, catamarning, swimming and photography and fusion cuisine. He has travelled extensively in Asia, Africa and Latin America. He supports Liverpool and Roma football teams, but would cheer for Liverpool if the two ever play...
