Taking the Agenda Forward: The Role of Citizens in Shaping Europe’s Future
Europe has had economic reform on its agenda for years – with limited success. Too often, citizens have left reforms up to the tense three-way dialogue between governments, trade unions and employers associations – who have argued themselves into a corner and achieved painfully little despite spending much energy on the problem. On the eve of the Spring European Council, civil society demands a voice in the reform debate. We call on European leaders to take bolder positions and end the gridlock.
In this brainstorming and strategy session, we look at the European reform agenda. What are the challenges before us? What are the policy responses that could help? And what can we as citizens bring to this vital debate?
